Ministry Goal: The goal of HCC’s preteen ministry is to train up spiritually strong and morally pure young teens who are prepared to face the pressures of middle and high school life. We desire to be relevant to these kids and to give them the tools needed to fulfill 1 Peter 3:15, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” |

On Sundays ...
The Quarry meets on Sunday mornings upstairs in room 200. Kids can enter the room at 9:45 AM, they have access to many different games such as pool, ping pong and various video games all used to promote fellowship before the Bible study hour begins. Just like our elementary department, the Quarry teaching time will begin and end with large group.
We also incorporate small groups which promote a more intimate and deeper Bible study. Because we believe that students in the 7th grade and beyond should join in the adult Worship Service, we will from time to time bring the Quarry into worship in preparation. We also believe that service is an extremely important part of being Christ-like and therefore, we will provide times and places for the students to serve.

On Wednesdays …
The Quarry will mimic “The Rock,” HCC’s youth group, in format. Our goal is to have these kids feel that by staying in a junior department one more year, they have gained much more than they have lost. They gain a place of their own, teachers who understand their struggles and are trustworthy, music and games designed specifically for them, and a safe place to flex their spiritual muscles before moving on into our teen youth group.
We will provide snacks and the occasional pizza along with drinks. The Quarry will open on Wednesdays at 6:30 and close at 8:15. During this weekly meeting we take time to develop relationships, play games, view dramas and video clips, laugh, worship and learn from God’s Word. Everything will come down to one question ...What does God say? We are determined to build relationships with kids in order to guide them through the difficult phase of middle adolescence as they seek to grow in their walk with God.
